Changing the world one child at a time
Compassion focuses on spiritual, physical, economic and social needs of children. Our Child Sponsorship Program has the following bases. We are:
- Christ Centered. Each child has an opportunity to hear the gospel in an age-appropriate and culturally relevant way.
- Child Focused. Engaging each child as a complete person, we treat children like we'd want our own children treated.
- Church Based. We partner with churches, parents and communities — to teach, train and mentor children.
- Committed to Integrity. We're dedicated to delivering excellent programs with complete integrity.

For more than 20 years, LeSEA Global Feed The Hungry has delivered help and hope to suffering people worldwide.
It seems like just yesterday when my dad, Dr. Lester Sumrall, received the inspiration to start Feed The Hungry while leading a tour to Israel. From that November night in Jerusalem in 1989 until today we have pushed forward to reach out to people around the world who have been caught in the grip of poverty, war, and natural disaster.
Working hand-in-hand with local churches in over ninety nations has proven to be the most efficient and effective way to get things done-- after all, who knows the needs of a village or city better than local ministries of compassion that live and work right within that community. And it’s helped us keep overhead at a minimum… in 2008, ninety-three cents of every dollar went directly to help people in need.
Without the prayers and support of our partners we simply could not do what we do. Today over twenty-thousand children in places like Yei, Sudan and Kibera, Kenya-- the world’s largest slum-- are receiving a hot meal because someone just like you decided to make hunger history. To see the faces of the kids when they receive their only meal of the day is amazing. To see them in school, learning and dreaming of what they can grow up to be is a blessing too big for words.
Thank you again for connecting with us… I hope you are inspired to help us change lives both here and for eternity.

MISSION STATEMENT
for
Garlock Ministries, Inc.
Garlock Ministries was incorporated on September 8, 1986 in Dallas, Texas, to carry out the vision of John and Ruthanne Garlock to help fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Our primary goal in this mission has been to “make disciples” by teaching ministers-in-training to effectively share the Gospel in their own communities, and then to train other disciples within those communities.
Our special interest has been to assist with training leaders in third-world nations where ministers have little or no opportunity for formal training, due to their economic conditions or their remote location. The ministry is funded through donations from churches and individuals who support our vision. Another goal is sharing with local churches to stir greater interest in the support of Christian missions, both through prayer and through financial help.
An additional aspect of Garlock Ministries, Inc. is to produce books, tapes, CD’s, and other materials which contribute to the purpose of training leaders, and to fund the translation and production costs for making John’s book, Keys to Better Preaching, available to various language groups.
After the December 2003 death of John Garlock, the board appointed Ruthanne Garlock to assume the position of President.

The Gideons International is an interdenominational association of Christian business and professional men who are members of Protestant/evangelical churches. Our members are dedicated to saving the lost through personal witnessing and the distribution of God's Word in more than 180 countries around the world.
The majority of Gideons live and serve in their local communities, making us very effective and efficient because . . .
- They know the local language and customs.
- They know where the hotels, schools, prisons, hospitals and other locations where Scriptures need to be distributed are located.
- Sometimes, we're able to establish local groups of Gideons in countries where traditional missionaries aren't allowed to go.

Heartsong Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit organization, chartered by the State of Texas since 1982. Betsy Brown is the "heart and soul" of formed to function as the governing body for the ministry she has had throughout the world since 1979. Literally hundreds of thousands of people have been touched in some way by this ministry in these last 30 years. Betsy has traveled much of western and eastern Europe (based four years of that time with American military personnel), Russia, parts of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Australia, and most of the United States (including a 1986 June-August bicycle ride across "Backroads America"), seeking to take Jesus to the world, meeting people where they are, one by one. She has been interviewed by Dr. James Dobson on the Focus on the Family radio program, the Far East Broadcasting Network, and on Armed Forces Radio in Europe on several occasions.
Betsy spent the better part of 2005 in Aceh, Indonesia, involved in Tsunami Relief, Recovery and Reconstruction work. Having worked in earthquake regions in Turkey and India, it was a natural thing for Betsy to rapidly respond to the needs in South East Asia just three days after the huge earthquake and tsunami hit the region. Betsy was involved in facilitating volunteers and connecting resources to needs predominantly in Banda, Aceh and along the west coast of Sumatra.
Betsy spent Christmas 2003 in Northern Iraq and Thanksgiving of 2007 in Baghdad and surrounding areas ministering to U.S. Military in Iraq. Betsy led a team to Syria in October of 2007 and discovered the Iraqi refugee situation and has made 6 further trips facilitating aid to the at least 2 million Iraqi refugees. All of the locations, the situations, the people are the same for her—opportunities to share Jesus and His love.

The 2008 facts are in!
-We are excited to announce that there were 150 life commitments recorded!!! The huge cross set up outside the prayer tent was filled with prayer requests and commitments.
-Rock The Desert was attended by approximately 13,000 people this year!
-There were approximately 1,000 campers braving the West Texas elements at Rock The Desert!
-Volunteers totaled around 400, which includes our awesome festival committee and individuals who signed up online and those who just showed up to help!
-The teen tent was a huge success and was packed during the weekend. The tent included various band performances as well as foosball, air hockey, food and drinks. There was space to just hang out as well.
Thanks to all who helped make this year possible and we hope all who attended had a blast. RTD continues to seek God's direction and we look forward to our 10th anniversary in 2009!! Keep checking the website for updates.
ROCK ON!!!
